Trabzon Sustainable Urban Transportation Plan Meeting and Signing Ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu. Stating that they continue to work for a more livable Trabzon, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “We will carry out a serious consultation and common mind process with all the dynamics of the city for the Sustainable Urban Transportation Plan with a project cost of 5.9 million euros.”

Sustainable Urban Transportation Plan Meeting and Signing Ceremony, supported by the European Union and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure within the scope of the "Transportation Sectoral Operational Program (USOP)", was held at the Trabzon Transportation service building. The meeting hosted by Metropolitan Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu was attended by Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Manager for EU and Foreign Relations Burak Aykan, TYPSA Regional Manager David Moreno and department heads. The project, which will last for 26 months, will include the preparation of Trabzon's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan and the training, consultancy and observation of good practices in this process.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “Today, we came together on the occasion of the Sustainable Urban Transport Plan (SKUP) signing ceremony, which is a very important project for our Trabzon. More than 2050% of the world's population currently lives in cities. This rate is increasing every year. It is assumed that this rate will be 60 percent in 2100 and 85 percent of the world's population in XNUMX. Therefore, there are cities that are becoming more and more concentrated and more complex. In order to cope with these difficulties and to meet the needs of the dense population, many cities are already carrying out some studies and putting forward big projects. As Trabzon, we continue our work in line with our goal of a more livable city. In this sense, we are in close cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. As a result of the work we have done with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure within the scope of the European Union's Transport Sectoral Operational Program, we are together today for the signing ceremony of the Sustainable Urban Transport Plan, whose tender has been completed and whose contractor has been determined.” used the phrase.

Emphasizing that they will conduct a serious consultation and common sense process for SKUP, Chairman Zorluoğlu continued as follows:

“We will create this plan together with all the dynamics of our city, all sectors related to transportation, professional chambers and non-governmental organizations. Tender done, we sign the contract. In the next 26 months, we will implement this important plan, which will carry our Trabzon forward in a planned and programmed way in terms of urban mobility, and which will lay the groundwork for us to create the necessary infrastructures. The most important issue here is that the city and our Metropolitan Municipality actively contribute to and embrace this plan. Otherwise, many plans are made and put on the shelves. After that, it doesn't come to mind again. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we will actively contribute to all stages of this plan. We aim to make Trabzon more livable with the Transportation Master Plan on one hand and SKUP on the other.”

Stating that the signing ceremony was held at the Transportation Management Center, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “After taking office, we brought our city to a technologically equipped management center where we can manage transportation from a single source. We have opened our new building on this occasion," he said.

After the speeches, the signing ceremony took place. Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu and Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure EU and Foreign Relations General Manager Burak Aykan and TYPSA Regional Manager David Moreno signed a contract for the Trabzon Sustainable Urban Transportation Plan. The meeting and signing ceremony ended after a souvenir photo was taken.
