The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) continues its efforts to prevent the rail traffic from being affected by the heavy rain that affects our country and causes floods from time to time and to continue uninterruptedly. A meeting was held under the chairmanship of TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük, with the participation of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ General Manager Ufuk Yalçın and the relevant department heads to evaluate the studies and measures taken against weather events that occur regionally and cause heavy rainfall in short periods. Regional managers also participated in the meeting via video conference system.

At the meeting, the effects of precipitation on the railway infrastructure and operational processes and the measures taken by the regional directorates were evaluated.

TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük drew attention to the importance of uninterrupted and safe rail transportation, which is the most important link of the transportation and logistics chain, despite all kinds of adverse weather conditions. Underlining that they, as the railway family, are vigilant according to the climatic conditions, Hasan Pezük emphasized that the climate change, which affects the whole world, should be well understood and that the measures to be taken in the railway infrastructure should be planned by taking into account the changing conditions.
