While 50 passengers departed from Izmir to Lesbos on the first flight last year, this year's first flight reached a capacity of 90 percent and reached 267 passengers. The people of Izmir went to Izmir Alsancak Passenger Port, either by public transportation or by their own vehicles, and completed their transactions with the help of İZDENİZ personnel. Passengers set off for Lesbos from Alsancak Port at 08.30:XNUMX in the morning on the high-speed İhsan Alyanak cruise ship of İZDENİZ.

İZDENİZ General Manager Ümit Yılmaz gave information about İzmir Midilli expeditions and said, “Today, we are starting the İzmir Alsancak – Midilli expeditions for the year 2022, with the slogan 'Our Route is Mytilene', which was carried out for the first time in the summer season of 2023. Expressing that the interest is increasing day by day, Ümit Yılmaz said, “We are extremely pleased with the interest shown in the expeditions. This year, we completed a number close to the number of tickets sold on all flights we made last season," he said.
Yılmaz said, “Economic difficulties are felt not only in İzmir but throughout the country. Fuel costs and personnel costs are quite high. Our Metropolitan Municipality supports us in this regard and attaches great importance to these expeditions. Therefore, we want everyone to benefit from these expeditions. First of all, we started with our young people up to the age of 18. We have plans for people over 65 in the future. But for the time being, we will carry our students, who come out of an intense education period, up to the age of 18 with a 50 percent discount. From next time, they will be able to travel by bicycle. Cycling can be very effective in Lesbos,” he said.

It will be very pleasant for us to be able to travel from here, without getting in the car, from a place close to our home. Prices are very affordable. Normally, going to Ayvalık by car from here is a much more advantageous application than setting out from there again.”
İmran Çıtak: “Today will be very useful for the people of İzmir for the first time; it will be very nice. It was quite difficult to go to Lesbos from Ayvalık. This way it was very easy and very simple. Many thanks to the municipality. Prices are more affordable, more people will take a vacation.”

Seda Gürer: “We are very satisfied. Instead of going to Ayvalık, we will get on and go straight from here, 5 minutes away from our house. We will have fun at sea during the time spent driving. We will be using it for the first time this year. Since we went with children, the prices are also very reasonable in our opinion. I think it will be enjoyable.”
Aydın Savran: “We are very happy that our municipality provides affordable tickets. We just evaluated it the first time. My mom and dad will be gone next week. We are very happy to have such an opportunity. It's our first time going to the Greek islands. Being able to go from Alsancak Port and having reasonable prices helped us a lot. There is an alternative to Chios, but Mytilene is more advantageous with these opportunities.”

İZDENİZ's İzmir - Midilli flights will continue until September 3, 2023. It will depart from Alsancak Port at 08.30:18.00 every Friday and return from Mytilene Port at 2:30 every Sunday. The ship “İhsan Alyanak” departing from Alsancak Port will dock at Midilli Port in 10 hours and XNUMX minutes. During the season, additional voyages will be organized both for the Port of Lesbos and the Port of Plomari in line with the demands from both sides. Citizens with green passports and Schengen visas benefit from pony tours. This year, the round-trip ticket fee is 60 Euros and the one-way ticket fee is 35 Euros. This year, 8 percent discount is applied for the 18-50 age group in order to help young people get rid of the tiredness of the education period. Children aged 0-7 can travel free of charge.
