Renault carries its goal of further strengthening its performance in the C segment, which is one of the main targets in the Renaulution strategic plan, to the D segment with the New Renault Rafale model. The new Renault Rafale is positioned at the top of Renault's product range, using the E-Tech hybrid system and the CMF-CD platform.
Developing its technology capacity for hybrid powertrains, chassis and electronic equipment, Renault now introduces its users to the New Rafale, which was created and developed for absolute driving pleasure. The name of the new model is inspired by Renault's aviation history dating back to the early 20th century. Renault was at that time the leading manufacturer of internal combustion engines for trains and airplanes, apart from cars. Taking over another manufacturer, Caudron, in 1933, the brand formed Caudron-Renault and all aircraft were named after the notable winds. Accordingly, the single-seat racing aircraft C460, designed to break the record, was renamed Rafale in 1934.
The new Renault Rafale is the first model designed and produced according to the new visual language created by Renault Design Vice President Gilles Vidal as the leader of “Design Renault”. The new model ushers in a powerful new era in Renault design. New Renault Rafale moves in harmony with the brand DNA, with its generous curves, lines crafted with great precision, and technical details that add character and refinement to the model. The new Renault Rafale stands out not only with its fuel consumption rates and technology, but also with its 200 hp E-Tech full hybrid powertrain using recycled materials. Born to take driving pleasure to new heights, the model will be developed with technological advances that will carry it to the top of the high-performance automotive world with a new E-Tech 4×4 300 hp powertrain. The new Renault Rafale is scheduled to go on sale in Turkey in 2024.
