Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç celebrated the 3 June World Bicycle Day and said that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they are working to promote the use of bicycles, which is a healthy and environmentally friendly means of transportation, with an 80-kilometer bicycle path throughout the city.

While the World Bicycle Day is celebrated on June 3, the Kayseri Bicycle Sharing System (KAYBIS), which is the most advanced model of bicycle transportation, which is a healthy and environmentally friendly means of transportation, is used with admiration by the citizens. In his statement on the subject, Mayor Büyükkılıç underlined that 80 kilometers of bicycle paths were built throughout the city, and that they would also invest in a new 10-kilometer bicycle path.

4 KILOMETER CYCLING ROAD IN THE LAST 35,6 YEARS

Stating that 4 kilometers of bicycle paths have been built in the last 35,6 years and that the roads of Kayseri are on a flat geography, Büyükkılıç said, “We set out to ensure that there should be bicycle paths right next to our roads in a flat city, and we show the necessary sensitivity in this regard and carry out the necessary studies. There are 80 kilometers of bicycle paths in Kayseri, and we will increase the length of bicycle paths to 10 kilometers with a new 90-kilometer bicycle path.”

Mayor Büyükkılıç stated that they always pay attention to the presence of bicycle lanes on the newly opened roads, and also special bicycles for children in Erciyes, which was built for the first time in Turkey on Erciyes Mountain and where there are tracks of different difficulty levels for all mountain bike users such as downhill and mtb. and reminded that they created an activity park.
