Istanbul Digital Art Festival (IDAF), Turkey's first and only digital art festival, held for the third time this year, opened its doors with a ceremony held at Atatürk Cultural Center.

With the support of the TR Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the main sponsorship of PASHA Bank, the festival was brought to life by Mezo Digital; will host important names in the field of digital arts, a total of 40 national and international artists. The Istanbul Digital Art Festival, which will be held at AKM on 2-5 June, will include workshops for children and youth, panels, and visual and auditory performances.

Organized by Mezo Digital with the support of the TR Ministry of Culture and Tourism, under the main sponsorship of PASHA Bank, the Istanbul Digital Art Festival opened its doors for the third time with a ceremony held at Atatürk Cultural Center.

Important names from the world of politics, business and art came together at the opening of the festival, which will take art lovers on a magical journey in the field of digital art.

Özgül Özkan Yavuz, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, said, “It is a fact that our world is rapidly digitalizing. Art also gets its share from this situation. Especially during the global epidemic, this process accelerated even more. The digital space has increasingly affected the content, language and style of art, as well as being a new medium in which art is presented. Digital art broadens our horizons by facilitating the collaboration of artists with different fields such as science and technology. It also makes the interaction of art with different disciplines more possible. In this way, very striking and mind-opening works can be produced. On the other hand, digital art also increases access opportunities by making the work's meeting with the audience as independent as possible from the space. The Istanbul Digital Art Festival, which includes only digital works, has been held since 2020, under the direction of Mezo Digital, with the contribution of our Ministry. The number of participating artists and events is increasing every year. In this year's festival, besides the exhibitions, workshops on artificial intelligence and robotics, panels that make us think about digital art and question its role in shaping our future, and events for our children are waiting for art lovers at AKM.

Festival Curator Esra Özkan said, 'We had a dream three years ago and today we are exhibiting works in all areas of AKM with our 40 artists. This year, 'If digital arts had a molecule, what would it be?' We started with the question. We met with our foreign and Turkish artists in the same dream. We have prepared a full program every day for our visitors," he said.

Turkey's first artificial intelligence curator, Avind, received great attention from the guests. Greeting the guests in Turkish and English, Avind said, "I hope this invitation will excite you, because it excites me greatly. At the Istanbul Digital Art Festival, you will be immersed in the magical world of digital art and you will witness the future today.

After the speeches, the Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Özgül Özkan Yavuz was presented with the certificate of the saplings donated to the Meso Forest formed by the saplings planted in the amount of energy used in the festival. After the presentation of certificates, all guests toured the area accompanied by festival curators Esra Özkan and Julie Walsh. The magnificent night ended with auditory and visual performances.

Important names of digital art and business world will meet in Istanbul!

Istanbul Digital Art Festival in Romania, where One Night Gallery will also take part as a guest, for 4 days; It will host important names in the field of digital arts, a total of 40 national and international artists, children and youth workshops, panels, visual and auditory performances. In addition to artists, many important names from the business world will take part in the panels and talks.

Within the scope of the festival; 6 panels will be held under the titles of Inspiring Entrepreneurship, How Artificial Intelligence Develops with Technologies, 3.0G Technologies, New Technologies and Art, Women In Web 8, Future Of Digital Art, How Creative Industries Combine with Technology and Digital Arts Branding Process.

In the special content of the festival prepared for young people; Workshops will be held every day with the titles of Digital Mask, AR, Artificial Intelligence, Electronic Waste Investigation and Removal on Smartphones and Tablets. For children, in addition to art, robotic coding and fairy tale workshops, “Can Machines Talk?” Three theater plays, "Neci's Diji Adventures" and "The Story of the Clumsy King", will be exhibited.

The Istanbul Digital Art Festival, which will last until June 5, will be open to the public and free of charge.
