China's electricity production increased by 5,6 percent in May compared to the same month of the previous year, according to official data. The State Statistics Office announced that the electricity produced in the country during the past month reached a total of 688,6 billion kilowatt-hours.
While the electricity produced by the thermal route increased by 15,9 percent on an annual basis this May, the electricity produced by the nuclear energy increased by 6,3 percent in May, compared to May of the previous year.
On the other hand, according to the data of the State Statistics Office, while wind energy produced 15,3 percent more electricity in the last month compared to the same month of the previous year, the electricity obtained from solar energy increased by only 0,1 percent in the same periods.
If we look at the first five months of the current year as a whole, it is seen that electricity production has reached 3,9 trillion kilowatt-hours in this period of 2023, by producing 3,42 percent more electricity compared to the first five months of the previous year.
