“Everybody would smile when they saw him”
Speaking at the commemoration ceremony, President Soyer said, “One of Turkey's most beautiful and greatest artists was Turkey's joy. He was a source of joy for Turkey. When he saw her, flowers would bloom in everyone, he would smile. So it's a huge loss. My condolences to all his loved ones and family," he said.
“Only one period ended with him”
Yağmur Damcıoğlu, the artist nephew of Damcıoğlu, who works at the Istanbul City Theatres, said, “My aunt was a very energetic and lively person. He is an element of Turkish theater history. An era has ended with him. Don't worry, my aunt, the bravest and hardest working woman in my life, your legacy will be a light.”
