According to the news in Sputnik, the Russian Duma approved the cooperation agreement between Russia and China on the supply of natural gas to China via the Far East line. Pursuant to this agreement, a line will be built from Dalnerechensk, Russia, to Hulin, China.

Companies of the two countries signed a contract in February last year to export 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China each year via the Far East route. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated in his previous statement that the implementation of the aforementioned cooperation agreement would be beneficial for both countries and would also contribute to the development of Russia's Far East region.

In 2019, Russia started to supply natural gas to China through the “Power of Siberia” pipeline. In 2022, the amount of natural gas exported to China through this pipeline reached 15,5 billion cubic meters.
