Buca Municipality has completed its preparations for the 16th Belenbaşı Yörük Culture Promotion and Cherry Festival, which will be held this year in memory of the late Belenbaşı Mukhtar İsmet İlhan. Mayor Erhan Kılıç invited all the people of İzmir to the festival where Sümer Ezgü, one of the popular names of Turkish Folk Music, will take the stage.

Buca Municipality Belenbaşı Yörük Culture Promotion and Cherry Festival, which will be hosted by Buca Municipality and Belenbaşı Mukhtarship with the contributions of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, will be held for the 16th time this year. The festival, where important values ​​of the nomadic culture will come to life, will be held in memory of the headman of Belenbaşı and the President of the Aegean Region İzmir Yörük Turkmen Federation İsmet İlhan, who lost his life as a result of a heart attack last November.

COLORFUL EVENTS

The festival will start with a cortege march on Sunday, June 4th. The festival, which will feature colorful events such as folk dances, keskek tattoo, and the show of Belenbaşı Yörük Village Theater, will continue with concerts. In the festival, where large participation is expected, the best cherry producer will also be selected.

CONCERTS WILL ALSO ATTEND

Artists Bahar Almaç, Zeynep İlhan, Kemal Özgün, Fatoş Kadıoğlu and Belenbaşı Village artists Yavuz İlhan and Abdullah İnanç will also take the stage as part of the festival, where Sümer Ezgü, one of the important names of Turkish Folk Music, will give a concert.

Stating that the nomads are one of the most important values ​​of Buca, Mayor Erhan Kılıç said, “We are doing our best to keep this culture alive. The festival is also part of it. We look forward to welcoming all our citizens from Izmir to our festival to be held on Sunday, June 4th.”
