50th Year Başbya Tram Stop Pedestrian Overpass Renovation

The 50th Yıl Başbya Tram Stop Pedestrian Overpass, which was heavily damaged by a truck crash in Sultangazi, is being renovated. The assembly of the 1st stage of the passage, whose main parts have been completed, will be done on the night of June 5th. Due to the work, all lanes of Arnavutköy-TEM Highway will be temporarily closed to traffic between 00.00-06.00. The overpass is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.

Sultangazi 50. Yıl Başbya Tram Stop Pedestrian Overpass was hit by a truck on March 15, 2023, causing heavy damage. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) closed the Başbya Tram Station for use as a result of the accident. Work started quickly to remove the existing pedestrian overpass and build a new one.

Within the scope of the study, raft foundation and column works were completed. The assembly of the 1st stage parts of the parade will take place on the night of June 5th. Due to the assembly, all lanes of Arnavutköy-TEM Highway will be temporarily closed to traffic between 00.00-06.00. The 2nd stage beam-flooring parts and staircase parts will also be ready soon. At the end of June, the overpass is planned to be completed and reopened.
