An explosion occurred at around 08.40:5 this morning at the Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) Rocket and Explosive Materials Factory in Elmadağ district of Ankara. XNUMX workers died.

While the workers were preparing for production, smoke rose from the factory with the explosion that occurred for an unknown reason in the dynamite mixer workshop. Upon the notification, many firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the region. Firefighters responded and extinguished the fire.

The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) made a written statement about the incident. In the statement, “An explosion occurred at the MKE Rocket and Explosive Factory in Elmadağ district of Ankara. As a result of the explosion, 5 of our workers were martyred. A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.”

THE CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION IS CHEMICAL REACTION

Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, who said that chemical reactions caused the explosion according to the first evaluations, stated that the cause of the explosion would be determined as a result of the investigations.

Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin said, “At around 08.45:5, an explosion occurred in the dynamite Turkish delight preparation section of our Elmadağ factory, which was evaluated as a result of a chemical reaction, and unfortunately, XNUMX of our workers working there lost their lives. Technical studies are carried out under the coordination of our public prosecutors.”
