The China International Import Fair, which will be held on November 5-10, 2023 in the People's Republic of China, the world's second largest economy, offers great opportunities to companies that want to get a larger share from China's annual $2 trillion imports.
400 million middle and high-income people live in China, there are direct flights from Turkey to 7 cities in China, with annual imports of $2 trillion from China, the second most importing country in the world after the United States. Informing that thanks to the China International Trade Fair, which coincides with the Far Countries Strategy of the Ministry of Commerce and supported by the Ministry of Commerce, a suitable ground has been created to increase exports from Turkey to China, Eskinazi said, “The quarantine conditions have disappeared in China. Visa process is back to normal. We will organize the 4th Turkish National Participation Organization for the China International Import Fair. Foreign trade between Türkiye and China is following a course against Turkey. While our import from China is 2022 billion dollars in 41, our export is at the level of 3 billion dollars. 3 billion dollars of our total foreign trade deficit of 2022 billion dollars in 109 has been given against China. We want to reduce this foreign trade deficit by increasing our exports to China," he said.
Stating that there are separate halls in the fair with the names of “Services, Automobile, Smart Industry and Information Technologies, Consumer Products, Medical Equipment and Health Products, Food and Agricultural Products, Eskinazi said, “Food, durable consumer products, cosmetics, baby foods, wine, organic chemicals, processed natural products. Explaining that the Aegean Exporters' Associations declared 2019 the "Year of China" and that they formed a team working on China, Eskinazi continued his words as follows; “Our initiatives continue to increase the bilateral trade volume between the two countries with the local currencies of the two countries. A first for our country, the Chinese version of our corporate website has been put into service. At the same time, since 2019, we have organized webinars with the participation of Trade Counselors, ICBC Bank officials and importers from China. We are in talks with ICBC to open an account of our Association at the Shanghai branch. We are holding the Turkey National Participation Organization of the China International Import Fair, which has been held in Shanghai, China for many years, and the world's largest natural stone fair, Xiamen.”
Turkish Tastes will extend to China
Reminding that they are carrying out a TURQUALITY Project called “Turkish Tastes” to increase the export of Turkish food products with the support of our Ministry of Commerce, Eskinazi said, “We are maintaining an intense promotional program in the USA within the scope of our Turkish Tastes project. We plan to have a similar leg of this project in China. In this project, while Turkish cuisine was taught as a course at the University of Las Vegas, social media phenomena and famous chefs introduced Turkish flavors to Americans. As a result of these promotional activities, our food exports to the USA increased by 100 percent from 700 million dollars to 1 billion dollars. We are in preparation for a project that will increase the awareness and preference of Turkish food products in China. An important opportunity to increase our exports to China at the China International Import Fair. We invite our Turkish exporters to take advantage of this opportunity.”
The China International Import Expo was held in 2022 on a total exhibition area of 360.000 m2. 128 companies and more than 2.800 professional visitors from 460.000 countries attended. China International Import Fair is among the fairs supported by the Ministry of Commerce. The unsupported m2 participation fee of the fair is 1.150 USD/m2 including transportation and 1.050 USD/m2 excluding transportation.
