Focusing on renewable energy investments for a healthier future in Bursa, the Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Geothermal A.Ş. He equipped the roof of the Spring Water Filling Facility with solar panels. The total electricity consumption of the facility, which is 2.8 million kilowatts per year, will be met from solar energy and approximately 780 thousand kilowatts of electricity will be sold, resulting in an annual income of 12 million TL.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which has turned to renewable energy sources with projects such as energy generation from waste, HEPP and GES within the scope of combating climate change, has added a new one to these investments. Having previously equipped the roofs of 38 metro stations with solar panels, the Metropolitan Municipality has now transformed the roof of the Spring Water Filling Facility of Bursa Geothermal A.Ş., one of its subsidiaries, in the borders of Kestel district, into a power plant. Within the scope of the project, which cost approximately 47 million TL, 5.639 panels of 545 watts and 22 inverters were installed. The commissioning and final acceptance processes of the project, whose cable assemblies are ongoing, are planned to be completed at the beginning of July. The facility will meet the entire annual electricity consumption of 2022 kilowatts, with 2.832.897 data, and approximately 779.287 kilowatts of energy will be sold to the system. The power plant, which is planned to operate for 25 years, is expected to generate an annual economic income of 12 million TL in today's conditions. In addition, with the establishment of the system, 17 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to planting 213 thousand 1.536.900 trees per year, will be prevented.

We are trying to generate resources

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Geothermal A.Ş. He examined the system installed on the roof of the Spring Water Filling Facility and gave information about the investments of the Metropolitan Municipality in renewable energy sources. Expressing that renewable energy is gaining more and more importance with each passing day, President Aktaş said, “We are trying to generate resources for our new services. We try to think about energy costs. That's why we make the best use of water and sun. Not at the moment, but we will also have wind-related studies," he said.

Bursa's energy comes from nature

Stating that a total of 2022 million 114 thousand 816 kilowatts of electrical energy was produced by burning methane gas in 102 in the solid waste facilities under the responsibility of the Metropolitan Municipality, Mayor Aktaş said, “This electrical energy produced from renewable sources meets the entire electrical energy consumed in the facilities used by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. In addition, in 2022, a total of 14 million kilowatts of electrical energy, 837 million kilowatts from hydroelectric power plants, 10 thousand kilowatts from solar power plants, and 25 million kilowatts from sludge incinerators, was produced within the body of BUSKI. This electrical energy produced from renewable sources meets 15 percent of the electrical energy consumed within BUSKI. In addition, 2022 million 2 thousand kilowatts of electrical energy was produced in 203 from the solar power plants installed on the roofs of metro stations within Burulaş. This corresponds to 3 percent of the electrical energy consumed by Burulaş. The total electrical energy produced from renewable energy sources within the scope of the Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiaries and affiliate companies in 2022 is 142 million 280 thousand kilowatts. This electrical energy produced corresponds to 2022 percent of the electrical energy consumed in 54 within the body of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiaries and affiliate companies. At the same time, 2 thousand 782 tons of carbon dioxide emissions were prevented, equivalent to planting 365 million 62 thousand 603 trees in total, with this electrical energy produced.”
