Bursa Knife's 'Sharp Heritage' Exhibition Opened to Visit

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality again showcased the Bursa Knife, which has a 700-year history, is based on blacksmithing and was shaped by skillful hands by keeping it alive with traditional methods, in the exhibition titled 'Sharp Heritage'.

Organized by the Metropolitan Municipality and designed with a collection of historical knives, swords, wedges, daggers and pocketknifes, the exhibition was opened to visitors at Bursa City Museum. The 'Sharp Heritage' exhibition, which also includes designs that participated in Bursa Knife design competitions and received degrees from different categories, will be presented to the audience for 1 year.

Emphasizing the importance of preserving the Bursa Knife, one of Bursa's brand values, and transferring it to the future, Mayor Aktaş said, "As Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, we also protected the cultural richness and brand values ​​of our city and considered transferring them to future generations among our priority duties."

Emphasizing that they are working on the development and branding of Bursa Knife and keeping it alive with master-apprentice relationship and traditional methods, President Aktaş also gave the good news that they are preparing for a festival that will be held for the first time in Turkey and will bring together all the cutlery in the sector.

Bursa Cutlery Association President Fatih Adliğ thanked President Aktaş for his support in keeping this cultural heritage alive.

While the show in which the production phase of the Bursa knife was staged before the opening was watched with interest, President Aktaş tested the sharpness of the knife by chopping vegetables on the table.
