Sirius Yapı Chairman of the Board Barış Öncü said that those who want to live in touch with nature and have a holiday, due to the increasing housing prices and accommodation costs, prefer the Tiny House option. Pointing out that he is in search of a place where white-collar families and families with children can cultivate the land and be intertwined with nature, Öncü said that Tiny Houses are preferred because of the comfort they provide and their compliance with the law.
Barış Öncü, who stated that they, as Sirius Building, saw the potential and gap in this area and turned to Tiny House investment, said, “We made a determination in 2018 based on people's desire to live in nature. It demanded summer residences where people could farm and children could touch the ground. However, we have seen the demands of people who cannot reach the summer houses for hobby gardens. We started to research land related to this business and bought the first land in Foça. In January 2019, we established the Olive Hobby Gardens cooperative, consisting of 115 parcels, with the logic of the hobby garden. We have sold parcels of 150 – 350 square meters. We brought people together with the land. We encountered a very fast sales performance that exceeded our estimation. In the process, we suspended the issue after legal obstacles regarding hobby gardens. We waited for the legal process to be clarified and to see what's ahead," he said.
THE TINY HOUSE CONCEPT IS EXPANDING QUICKLY
Noting that they have come up with a suitable solution for people who cannot afford to buy a summer house and need a comfortable accommodation, Barış Öncü said, “The search for people who invested in hobby gardens continued. We decided that the only legal point of this business would be Tiny House. Regarding Tiny House, we established Foça Zeytinliköy Housing Building Cooperative in 2020. We started member registration in September 2022. Currently, 90 percent of the parcels are filled. However, we talked to all the producers in the region about the Tiny House sale. We also conducted research abroad and abroad. We saw that we would experience service and after-service problems. We then registered the Sirius Tiny House brand. In our production facility in Ulukent, we have implemented a new facility established on an indoor and outdoor area of 3 thousand square meters. Tiny House is actually a mobile vehicle that goes on highways. Therefore, as you use it, there is a need for service. We thought that we should set up the after-sales service system and provide trouble-free service to the audience we are addressing. We entered this business in order to be an assurance in after-sales and service, without making our members who trust us a victim.”

Noting that they were able to produce 3 main models with the Sirius Tiny House brand, Öncü continued his words as follows: “We create our vehicles with completely boutique and personalized designs, in line with international standards. Based on the three main models of flat single storey, loft mezzanine and one and a half storeys, we can prepare many things according to customer expectations and demands, from kitchen cabinets to countertops, from floor to ceiling, from material types to vehicle equipment. We do all kinds of development on the main models. Base and platform in accordance with the same highway standards. Our lead time to a customer who wants a standard model is around 3 days. Along with the desired changes, the production process is shaped accordingly. We made a serious investment. We saw that; The number of production facilities within our capacity is few. We have established the infrastructure necessary for a boutique service. We have 60 architects and mechanical engineers in our organization. Our architects design the changes requested by the customer instantly on the computer. We set out to do the best at what we do. We entered this sector to be permanent.
