Results of the 2nd National Sait Faik Abasıyanık Story Contest Have Been Announced

The results of the 2nd National Sait Faik Story Contest, held in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and Sakarya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, have been announced. The winners of the competition, which was held to keep the memory of Sait Faik Abasıyanık, who has an important place in Turkish Literature, alive and to introduce him to the younger generations, have been announced.

The results of the 2nd National Sait Faik Story Contest, organized with the cooperation of Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality and Sakarya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, have been announced. The interest of literature lovers was intense in the competition, which was held in order to keep the memory of Sait Faik Abasıyanık, who was born in Adapazarı in 1906 and has an important place in Turkish literature with his storytelling, alive, to support the studies in the field of story, and to introduce them to the younger generations.

Nominees

According to the results announced, Arif Semih Sulubulut, who participated in the competition, won the first place with the story "On the Tree, Inside the Tree", Ahmet Yavuz Demirkır took the second place with the story "Children's Garden" and Pınar Güven won the third place with the story "Fire and Water". In the honorable mention category, Emrah Board won the rankings with the story "Who is the victim in Tyana?", Sacide Çobanoğlu with the story "Beyond Beech Tree Grasshopper Water" and Nihat Altun with the story "Visiting Trees".

The competition was well attended

The theme of the competition, which was held to keep the memories of Sait Faik Abasıyanık, who is one of the symbols of the city and has an important place in Turkish literature, was “Trees” stories. Tree stories, one of the themes frequently used by the poet in his poems and novels, became the most important factor determining the awards of the competition. A large number of participants from Turkey and abroad took place in the competition, which does not have any city or region restrictions.
