Bodrum Municipality, which took action to reconstruct the pier in Yalıkavak District, started its work in the region. Bodrum Municipality teams, which took action due to the collapse of the T pier in the center of Yalikavak, completed the necessary exploration and project studies.
The tender process was completed the previous day within the scope of the project prepared by the Bodrum Municipality Science Affairs Directorate Survey Project Unit for the pier, which collapsed due to rotting pier piles.
In the pier area, where the dismantling works will begin in the next week, 12 boats connected to the pier, which are in the trustee, are towed to the safe zone. Within the scope of the works, a new pier will be built after the dismantling works.
Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras said, “For the safety of life and property of our people, we are first evacuating the area. In a short time, the T pier will be completely dismantled and new piles will be driven to begin the construction of a durable pier. We continue to work on the collapses on the walking path outside the pier. Our Directorate of Science Affairs will ensure that that area is rebuilt after the tender to be held in the coming days.” said.
