Within the scope of the 'Goose Breeding Project for Local Taste Tirit' by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, 3 goose pups were distributed to 30 female producers in 500 districts.
Farmers are supported with the 'Goose Breeding for Local Taste Tirit' project implemented by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality in Havza, Kavak and Ladik districts. Within the scope of the project supported by the Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP), 3 goose pups were given to 30 female producers in 500 districts. With the project, it is planned that the farmers in Kavak, Havza and Ladik districts will gain additional income and increase their welfare level accordingly. The project also aims to bring new producers to the sector, to create materials for businesses that make a living from tirit, and to contribute to the continuation of the goose tiridi tradition, which is one of the local tastes.
'WE WANTED TO LEAD THE VOICE OF THIS REGION TO BE HEARD TO TURKEY'
Providing information about the details of the project, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department Head Dr Ali Korkmaz said, “We distributed a total of 3 goose pups, 30 for each, to a total of 50 female producers in 1500 districts. The project budget is 455 thousand 220 TL. We also thank DOKAP for their support. We implemented this project in order to popularize goose breeding and to include our female producers in this business. We say good luck to our producers. We want our female producers to embrace this project and be successful. Maybe by establishing the goose breeders' union here, I hope to make the voice of this region heard all over Turkey and that this work will lead to this," he said.
