Approximately 19 million students in primary and secondary education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education (MEB) will take their second break in the 2022-2023 academic year. So, when will the midterm break start? How many days will the second break last?
The delay in the opening date of the second term of schools after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes brought up the question of whether the second break, planned to be April 17-20, will be cancelled.
WHEN WILL THE MID HOLIDAY BEGIN?
According to the calendar of the Ministry of National Education, this year the second midterm holiday in schools will be implemented on April 17-20 and will be combined with the Ramadan Feast holiday on April 21. Students will take their last classes tomorrow before the midterm break of the second semester.
HOW MANY DAYS WILL THE SECOND MID-TERM HOLIDAY LAST?
The mid-term holiday will start on Monday, April 17, as it is in the calendar, and will end at noon on Thursday, April 20, the eve of Eid al-Fitr. The second half-term holiday of 3,5 days will be combined with the Eid al-Fitr official holiday. Teachers will be considered on administrative leave during the break.
WHEN WILL THE MID HOLIDAY END?
As of Monday, April 24, after the midterm break, students will continue their education in schools. The education period, which started on September 12, 2022, will end on June 16, 2023.
