Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar said, "We will buy Altay, the first national battle tank produced in Arifiye, on Sunday."

Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, together with Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Land Forces Commander General Musa Avsever, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu and Air Forces Commander General Atilla Gülan, conducted inspections and inspections at the 8th Commando Brigade Command.

A video teleconference meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister Akar with the participation of the TAF Command Level and the unit commanders in the north of Iraq and Syria, as well as the unit commanders on the border line.

Minister Akar, who started the meeting by celebrating the Ramadan Feast of the personnel, stated that the effectiveness, deterrence and prestige of the Turkish Armed Forces have increased after the recent developments in the domestic and national defense industry.

Reminding that the new “flagship” of the Naval Forces Command, TCG ANADOLU, was delivered to the Naval Forces Command and the IMECE satellite system was successfully launched into orbit, Minister Akar said, “We will receive our first national battle tank, Altay, produced in Arifiye on Sunday. This will be a source of great joy and pride for us. Our work in the defense industry will continue. In addition to these, our engineers and workers continue to work intensively to fly our national combat aircraft. UAV / SİHA, Kızılelma is also in the works in the defense industry. There is a serious breakthrough, development and struggle in this field. Hopefully, by continuing our work, we will reach the capacity to produce the basic needs of our Armed Forces domestically and nationally.” made statements.

Emphasizing that the Turkish Armed Forces' fight against terrorists continues intensely, Minister Akar said, "According to all indicators, we seem to be coming to the end of the work. There is no complacency, arrogance or carelessness. We will not compromise on sensitivity and continue the pressure with the same seriousness, sincerity and attention.” said.

Minister Akar stated that they are determined to save the nation from the terror scourge that has been afflicting them for 40 years and said, "In the last week, 12 terrorists, 6 of them in Syria and 18 of them in northern Iraq, have been neutralized." he said.

Congratulating the staff for taking control of the area called Çemçö, which terrorists see as a "fortress" and described as "inaccessible" in the Zap region in northern Iraq, Minister Akar said, “This was an important development. Minister Akar, who conveyed his wishes for mercy to the martyrs and healing to the veterans, whom he described as having the main share in all achievements, once again celebrated the Ramadan Feast of the heroic members of the Turkish Armed Forces, who have been performing their duties with great devotion and successful work in the recent period.

Minister Akar then went to the ceremony area and celebrated with the staff of the 8th Commando Brigade Command.

Celebrating the feast of Mehmetçi who rushed to the aid of the citizens despite being affected by the earthquakes on February 6, Minister Akar stated that they had a sad holiday.

Expressing his wishes for mercy to those who lost their lives in the earthquake and healing to the injured, Minister Akar said, “You heroic Mehmetçi's self-sacrificing efforts from the first moment were very important in terms of healing the wounds.” said.

After the earthquakes, which he described as the "disaster of the century", Minister Akar said that all ministers, especially our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and related institutions and organizations were mobilized from the very first moment, and that efforts to heal the wounds are continuing rapidly.

At the end of the ceremony, in which the National Anthem was sung and the martyrs and citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake were commemorated with a minute of silence, Minister Akar congratulated the staff one by one on the Ramadan Feast.
