The stadium in Gaziosmanpaşa, named after the late Halit Kıvanç, the veteran of Turkish sports and television history, was opened. “Halit Kıvanç City Stadium”, completed with the cooperation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality, was opened within the scope of the “300 Projects in 300 Days” marathon. The opening of the stadium, which was put into service in the Mevlana District; IYI Party Chairman Meral Şener, IMM President and Nation Alliance's vice-presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hasan Tahsin Usta. Bülbin Kıvanç, wife of the late Halit Kıvanç, a veteran sportsperson, and his family were also present at the opening. At the opening where the tribunes were packed, respectively; Usta, İmamoğlu and Akşener made speeches. All three names condemned the armed attack on the IYI Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency building.

Stating that Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Usta, who spoke before him, explained the construction process of the stadium in a good way, İmamoğlu said, “I also thank all the managers who contributed from the past to the present, the late Mr. I sincerely thank the managers of Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality for their cooperation”. Regarding the stadium they opened, İmamoğlu said, “This is a place where all the beauties of football will be kept alive with its FIFA-approved pitch, 5000-person tribune, modern areas of use that meet all needs. It has a parking lot, we added a nursery that didn't exist before, and it has a very nice nursery for 120 people. With its market area, it will be one of the liveliest spots of the region. At the same time, 21 sports clubs operating in Gaziosmanpaşa will have training centers to support amateur sports.

Noting that they had no difficulty in searching for a name for the stadium, İmamoğlu said, "As a person I love very much, who really teaches sports, not only tells sports, but as soon as I passed away, I said, 'We should definitely name this stadium after Halit Kıvanç.' And I sincerely thank his very valuable wife and family, who accepted this and gave 'acceptance' to this idea with us. Dear Halit Kıvanç, whatever he did, he did it by giving his due. He has done every job of journalism, radio and television broadcasting and writing properly. He has given the right to be human. Halit Kivanc; He is the common value and common lover of everyone who knows him, learns from him, listens to him, the whole society. He was alive and will continue to be so. Stat, in its new form; It has a 5000-person tribune, 4 locker rooms, 4 coaching rooms, 2 referee rooms, 1 observer room, 1 doping control room, 1 press room and 6 administrative offices. In the stadium with a FIFA approved field floor; There will also be live broadcast areas and 24 offices to be allocated for the use of amateur sports clubs. The stadium, which will also host the competitions of professional football clubs, will also serve as a training center for 24 sports clubs operating in the district.
