Ordu, which has made a rapid progress in the last two years in order to become the most important trade and tourism center of the Black Sea, raises the bar in sea tourism and transportation. Ordu, which stepped into international maritime transport with the start of Ro-Ro voyages with Russia through Ünye Port in September 2022, and then hosted cruise tourism, one of the most important areas of sea tourism, in December, now welcomes container ships.

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Ünye Port, where Mehmet Hilmi Güler works to become an export point to the Black Sea countries and the Turkish Republics, is moving day by day. Unye Port started to host container ships after Ro-Ro and cruise ships.

The container ship departing from Russia's Sochi and Georgia's Poti port came to Ordu's Ünye port and unloaded its cargo. Ongoing maritime export activities between Ordu-Georgia-Russia continue uninterruptedly.

TRADE VOLUME WILL INCREASE

Unye Port, which reduces both foreign and domestic trade logistics costs with the advantage of being at the midpoint of the Central and Eastern Black Sea provinces, is the trade point that increases the trade volume of Ordu.

Maritime tourism and trade will continue uninterruptedly with Ünye Port, which will gain momentum by merging with strategic roads such as the Black Sea-Mediterranean and Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar Road. Thus, Ünye Port will be brought on equal terms like other existing ports and will significantly shape both the provincial economy and the regional economy.

On the other hand, the port, which will directly affect factors such as logistics and industry, will also contribute to employment.
