With the increase of drought caused by the lack of precipitation, the water levels of the dams in Istanbul have decreased significantly, raising concerns.

The water level in Büyükçekmece Dam Lake was recorded as 9 percent as of March 30,94.

According to the data shared by the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) on its official website, the water level in Büyükçekmece Lake was measured as 94,45 percent in the same period of last year.

It was seen that islets formed at some points in the lake, and plastic water bottles, car tires, shoes, seats and boat parts began to appear with the receding waters.

After the water level decreased in the lake, structures that were submerged in time emerged.

It was noteworthy that bullet casings were also seen on the lowering edges of the lake.

Those who come to the dam lake regularly for fishing expressed their concerns about the rapid decrease in the water level.

Meanwhile, the water level of the dams in Istanbul is currently at 83,48 percent, up from 35,42 percent recorded in the same period last year.
