  • 1969 – Revolutionary Nationalist Youth Congress convened in Istanbul. Yusuf Kupeli and Deniz Gezmiş, the leader of the Federation of Intellectual Clubs, whose short name is FKF, published a manifesto. They announced the program of struggle for the goal of “a fully independent and truly democratic Turkey”.
  • 1980 – The Process Leading to the 12 September 1980 Coup in Turkey (1979 - 12 September 1980): The presidential election that should have been held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey was not held. He was not elected president for months until September 12, 1980.
  • 1986 – Mehmet Ali Ağca was sentenced to life imprisonment in Italy.
  • 1988 – Türkiye İmar Bankası TAŞ was established.
  • 1993 – Intel Pentium goes on sale.
  • 1995 – In the operation in northern Iraq, 3 thousand PKK members were surrounded; 200 were killed, eight soldiers were killed and another 11 were wounded.
