Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and its subsidiaries did not forget the women in the earthquake zone on March 8, International Women's Day. Tens of thousands of hygiene packages containing the most basic needs for women such as shampoo, sanitary pad and toothbrush are sent to the region. While İBB Women's tents were set up in the center of Samandağ and Hatay, the Mor Bus, which will also go to rural areas for the needs of women, set off. In addition, the Federation of Women's Associations of Turkey and IMM are also establishing Purple Points, where information and awareness-raising activities will be carried out on women's health.
IMM stands by the women in the earthquake zone on March 8, International Women's Day. IMM and its subsidiaries evaluate their budgets for women's day by sending a hygiene package to the earthquake zone. The women who came together at Yenikapı Disaster Relief Collection Center and the employees of IMM and its subsidiaries said, “We are always with you for our female brothers in the earthquake region. Hygiene packages were carefully prepared by saying "We are strong together". In the boxes containing many products, from sanitary pads to shampoo, which are the basic needs in the earthquake zone, IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu's unity and togetherness message has also been added.

In her message, İmamoğlu said, “Precious Women, As Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we present gifts to our female employees under the roof of IMM on March 8, International Women's Day every year. My dear colleagues have decided to deliver this year's gifts to you as a hygiene package. This package is a gift to you from our female employees in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. I would like to take this opportunity to convey to you the greetings and feelings of solidarity of my female colleagues and women from Istanbul. The women of Istanbul are with you spiritually, mentally and physically. Hoping to celebrate 8 March International Women's Day with great enthusiasm in better days when we look to the future with hope and confidence… I offer my most sincere love and respect.”
The prepared packages will be delivered to women living in the tent cities of Samandağ, İskenderun and Antakya on March 8.
WOMEN'S CENTERS
On the other hand, IMM Women's tents are set up in the center of Samandağ and Hatay in line with the needs analysis. Services such as psychological support, social support, health counseling, mother-baby counseling, legal counseling and workshops for women will be provided in the tents. Hygiene bags consisting of toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, pads, liquid soap, shaving foam, razor blades, nail clippers, combs, hair brushes, tissue paper and single soap, created by the Directorate of Women's and Family Services for needs, were sent to the region. It will be distributed with the Purple Bus. Mor Bus will also go to the rural areas in the region and provide services for the needs.

In addition, Purple Campuses will be established with the memorandum of understanding signed with the Federation of Women's Associations of Turkey. In Purple Points, which are safe areas free from violence; Psychosocial support will be provided for all age groups. Information and awareness-raising activities on women's health will be carried out and trainings will be given to ensure gender equality.
