IMM's Haliç Water Sports Center is Opening Soon

Haliç Water Sports Center is opening soon. The construction has reached the final stage. Designed for canoe and rowing races, the center will be the first water sports center of Istanbul. A similar facility is being built in Maltepe, on the Anatolian side. The breakthroughs in water sports that will bring Istanbul together with the sea will continue to increase. not limited. The construction work of the boutique water sports center at 6 different points in Istanbul has also started.

SUITABLE FOR INTERNATIONAL RACES

With its wide green areas suitable for the texture of the Golden Horn and a track length of 2 kilometers, the Golden Horn Water Sports Center was designed for international canoe and rowing competitions. There are 6 boat hangars in the center where clubs can do their training. Thanks to the hangars, the unique silhouette of the Golden Horn will not deteriorate. There is also a boathouse with a capacity of 174 canoes. The upper part of the facility, which also includes a fitness room, conference hall, referee towers, trainer room and locker rooms, will serve as a social facility open to Istanbulites. Istanbulites will be able to watch the races from this area.

SECOND TO MALTEPE

İBB has also started the construction of a new international water sports center on the shore of Orhangazi City Park on Maltepe beach. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. It is planned that the facility will have 184 canoe capacity boathouses and 4 locker rooms, health room, doping room, administrative room and cafeteria sections to serve the athletes.

6 MORE WATER SPORTS CENTERS

In addition to international facilities, more boutique water sports centers are being built by IMM at 6 different points of the city. The centers, the construction of which started in Tuzla, Bostancı and Florya in the first place, will be used for training purposes by canoe and rowing clubs in Istanbul. The centers will consist of 3 modules: changing areas, administrative areas and canoe-paddle storage areas.
