IETT started an education project to raise children's awareness of earthquakes and to teach them the right behaviors in using public transportation in times of disaster. In the trainings given in the company of a traffic trainer and psychological counselor, trainings are given on many different topics such as courtesy rules in public transportation, use of Istanbulkart and urban travel. Classes that started in our home, Istanbul, will also be held in state or private schools, depending on demand.
IETT, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), started the education project for children on what to do in transportation in case of a possible earthquake in Istanbul. The first of the trainings was held in Sancaktepe Children's Traffic Training Park with the students of “Our Home Istanbul”. In the lessons, which the children carefully followed, training was given on what to do in public transportation in the event of an earthquake.

IETT's trainings, accompanied by traffic trainers and psychological counselors, are presented with entertaining and educational content for children. Children are told about the rules of waiting at the bus stop when using public transportation. They are taught not to joke at the bus stop and to wait at the safe point. While getting on the bus, it is shown practically how they will get on the vehicle in order. How to communicate with the driver in case of need is also included in the curriculum. It is conveyed that he greets the driver, asks his question clearly and does not engage him. Preparation of Istanbulkarts before getting in the vehicle and tracking the stops from the screen inside the vehicle are among the other course topics.
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS WILL BE INCLUDED
IETT, which carries approximately 4 million passengers a day by bus, metrobus, tram and tunnel, will continue its earthquake trainings in different districts of Istanbul. If there is a demand from public kindergartens and schools and private schools and nurseries, the trainings will also be given to the children here.
