Turkey's XNUMX% domestic polyurethane systems manufacturer, Kimpur, has made an important collaboration with Yonca Onuk Shipyard, which designs and builds advanced composite, commercial and military type boats, for the production of fenders used in boats. With the cooperation of two companies that are members of the Defense and Aerospace Industry Manufacturers Association (SASAD), fenders, which were previously produced entirely from imported raw materials, will now be produced in Turkey.

Kimpur and Yonca Onuk Shipyard have made an important breakthrough in producing fenders needed in boats with domestic resources. The polyurethane systems it produces are used in the footwear, automotive, furniture and insulation-construction, heating-cooling and defense industries. came.

Higher performance and robustness

With the partnership of Kimpur and Yonca Onuk Shipyard, a much higher performance, more robust and lightweight fender design has been completed in a composite structure made of EVA foam covered with Kimpur's KIMcase Elastomer System on the outside and wrapped with Kevlar on the inside. Thus, together with Yonca Onuk Shipyard, which has been producing ready-made fenders with imported raw materials at its shipyard in Tuzla for a while and using them in high-tech gunboats, fenders can now be produced with domestic and national resources.

"We will continue to provide added value to our country and defense industry with our existing and new projects."

Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca, who emphasized that as Turkey's 2017% domestic capital polyurethane systems manufacturer, Kimpur, which has been registered as an R&D Center by the Ministry of Industry and Technology since May XNUMX, has also taken strong steps in the defense industry sector with its expert teams: In line with the needs of the industry, we continue our project studies without slowing down to develop many different products, from special elastomers for underwater sonar to special coating systems that require high strength and lightness. We came together with Yonca Onuk Shipyard, which is a leading company in its sector, and successfully completed our studies for the domestic and national production of marine fenders, all of which are produced from raw materials imported from abroad. Together with our current and new projects, we will continue to provide added value to our country and our defense industry.”

The chemical industry company Kimpur, which continues its activities to develop raw materials for the defense industry without slowing down, is in the strong network of the Defense and Aerospace Industry Manufacturers Association (SaSaD) and the Defense Aviation and Space Cluster Association (SAHA Istanbul).
