Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Line Project returned with the 'Transportation Project of the Year-Heavy Rail System' award from the ceremony held in London.

IJ Global Awards, where the most successful projects and companies of the year are determined by Infrastructure Journal Global (IJ Global), one of the world's leading project and infrastructure finance publications, found their owners. ERG Group companies ERG Construction Ankara, ERG International Ltd. Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Line (YHT) Project (AİYHT), carried out by the partnership of London and SSB AG Zurich, was awarded the 'Transportation Project of the Year - Heavy Rail System' award.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Group at the award ceremony held in London, SSB General Manager Burak Sencer expressed their happiness that the project brought an award to Turkey and said, “While the project will reduce the distance between İzmir and Ankara to three hours, employment for tens of thousands of people, Turkey's climate will contribute to the fulfillment of its commitments. It will be beneficial for the development of cities and regions on the line by making travel between regions shorter and more economical.”

Project started in March 2022

The project, which was built with a length of 508 km and a speed of 250 km / h, includes more than 15 engineering structures, including 25 tunnels, 51 viaducts and 800 bridges. Within the scope of earthworks, there are more than 11 million cubic meters of excavation and more than 26 million cubic meters of filling.

The Project, which will create employment for 10 thousand people and economic development that will affect millions of people, will provide employment for approximately 10 thousand people and income for 40 thousand people throughout its construction.

In addition to the increase in commercial activity in the wide region between the two cities, it is expected that new job opportunities and economic development will occur in the provinces and districts near the stations in Ankara's Polatlı district, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, Aydın, Manisa and İzmir, where the high-speed train will pass.
