'After the Lizard' Play Gets Full Points from Theater Lovers

On the third day of the Ayvalık Women's Play Festival, Theater Mora's play, After the Lizard, at the Vural Cinema Nejat Uygur Stage, received full marks from the theater lovers. Written by Tolgay Hiyılmaz, directed by Kübra Şafak, and Merve Conker becoming a giant on the stage, the play was applauded by the audience, including the Kozaklı actresses of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Theatre. Ayvalık Municipality Cultural Affairs Director Ayşe Urul congratulated the artist at the end of the play and presented a flower bouquet in memory of the festival.

The hunched, clunky, stubby and extraordinary story of a young woman living in one of the back quarters of the city, who got bored of playing the role she had been cut for and decided to open a nut shop, which drags her soul into border violations, met with the audience. To women whose names are not considered worthy of mention because they did not get involved in a murder, abuse, rape, won a medal, did not run away with their father-in-law, did not participate in beauty contests, was not a mother, did not hit the jackpot at twelve, did not milk the cows, read a book, went out into the street by refusing to look out the window, and did not receive any awards. The play titled After the Lizard, which was dedicated to him, received great acclaim.
