The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) announced that university candidates will be exempted from the 17th grade second semester curriculum in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) to be held on June 18-12.

In the statement made by the Council of Higher Education on the subject, it was pointed out that the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş on February 6 affected not only the students in the region, but also secondary school students in Turkey. For this reason, the situation regarding YKS was evaluated and the following statements were included in the statement stating that this decision was taken:

“As it is known, in accordance with the 2547th article of the Higher Education Law No. 45, the admission and placement procedures to higher education institutions are carried out according to the procedures and principles determined by the Higher Education Council, by taking measures to ensure equality of opportunity and opportunity.

Our Board, taking into account these extraordinary conditions in our country by using the authority given to it by the Law, has decided not to ask questions in 12 YKS by exempting our students from the curriculum of the 2023th grade second semester education in secondary education institutions. The decision taken was notified to ÖSYM and put into practice.”
