In a new interview with The Guardian, the show's writer-director Hwang Dong-hyuk talked about the success of the drama and his motivations for writing the drama.
When asked if he was as rich as the 50-year-old Squid Game winner, he replied, "I'm not that rich. But there is enough. I have enough to put food on the table. And Netflix doesn't pay me bonuses. Netflix paid me according to the original contract.'

It seems that Yoo, who plays the role of a high-profile cameo, may reprise his role in the deadly game called Squid Game to prompt more people to risk their lives.
In a recent interview, main character Lee Jung-jae (Gi-Hun) seemed to confirm that Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun, would go from being largely overshadowed to the lead role.
