The “Turkish Woman in the 9th Anniversary of the Republic” photography contest, launched by the Ministry of Family and Social Services on January 100, revealed the place and power of women in all areas of life with photographs. In the contest, in which more than 3 thousand photographs participated; In addition to the photographs of women who are the architects of modern and contemporary Turkey in many different fields, from health to education, from art to sports, photographs of women bearing the traces of our cultural heritage also left their mark on the awards.

Yanik: “Social memory was built through photographs”

Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, said that photographs hold the most important place in the visual memory formed in the last 100 years. Emphasizing that social memory is built through photographs, Minister Derya Yanık said, “The Photojournalists Association of Turkey has been building a very important memory since 1985. In this context, we tried to present a new memory to our nation with the Photojournalists Association of Turkey in the 100th anniversary of our Republic.”

Minister Derya Yanık stated that the 'Turkish Woman in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic' photography contest is important in terms of both supporting the art of photography and demonstrating the achievements of Turkish women in social, cultural, artistic, scientific and sports activities. 420 photographers, 3 thousand 59 square photos

420 photographers participated in the competition organized by the Ministry of Family and Social Services together with the Photojournalists Association of Turkey, with 3 thousand 59 photos and their awards were given.

Uğur Yıldırım took the first place in the "Turkish Woman in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic" photography contest with a picture of nurse Ece Özcan, who takes care of the babies of mothers who contracted the coronavirus during the Covid-19 epidemic.

Young Women Fencing Kılıç National Team captain Nisanur Erbil's portrait in the competition, where Selahattin Sönmez came second, Mehmet Yılmaz won the third place with the photo of a woman doing sports on the Izmir Güzelyalı Bridge.
