Toyota's Yaris model managed to exceed 10 million sales worldwide, despite the production and supply problems affecting the automotive industry, especially after the pandemic.
Yaris, which is among the most sought-after models in Turkey as well as all over the world, has taken its place among the “legendary Toyota models” by reaching eight-digit numbers such as Corolla, Camry, RAV4, Hilux and Land Cruiser with this success.
“25 years of increasing success”
Yaris, which is shown as a reference in its class in innovation and pioneering its segment with the new technologies it offers, has been continuing this success by increasing it for 25 years. Since its launch, the Toyota Yaris has consistently remained one of the best-selling models in Europe.
Yaris, which is currently on sale in its fourth generation, responds to different customer profiles and expectations with its expanding product family. Yaris Cross, which went on sale in Turkey in 2022, expanded the family's customer portfolio with its SUV style.
Since the first generation Yaris was introduced in 1999, total sales of the Yaris family in Europe have exceeded 5 million 155 thousand units. Last year, however, the Yaris range represented more than a third of Toyota's European sales.
The Yaris has also become a worldwide Toyota model. Yaris, which was first started to be produced in Japan at the beginning of 1999, now has 10 production centers in Japan, including Brazil, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, France and the Czech Republic. In Europe, Yaris has been produced since 2001 and the total Yaris production has exceeded 4.6 million units.
