The Presidential Decree on the Measures Taken in the Field of Education under the State of Emergency was published in the Official Gazette. In the provinces where a state of emergency was declared in accordance with the decree, citizens affected by the earthquake will be provided with free meals, accommodation, cleaning and other services provided by the official schools and institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and their revolving fund businesses. These expenses will be met from the budget of the Ministry of National Education.

For private education institutions located in provinces where a state of emergency has been declared, the periods specified in the first paragraph of Article 8 of the Law on Private Education Institutions dated 2007 February 5580 and numbered 7 will cease for three months as of the date of entry into force of this Presidential Decree, as of February 6, 2023. These periods will start to run from the day following the day when the suspension period ends.

If the closed or closed private education institutions in the provinces where the state of emergency has been declared cannot deliver the seals, all the books, files and other documents related to the administrators, teachers and students, due to the earthquake, which are required to be transferred and delivered within the scope of the fifth paragraph of the 5580th article of the Law No. 7. Administrative fines specified in the aforementioned paragraph will not be applied to the institutions.

In the provinces where the state of emergency was declared, in case the operating budget is insufficient to pay the wages of the workers employed within the scope of the Labor Law No. Funds can be transferred from the budget of the Ministry of National Education.

Scholarships paid in this context, in case the students who study with scholarship within the scope of the Law on the Education of Free Boarding or Scholarship Students in Primary and Secondary Education in the provinces in the state of emergency and are transferred to private education institutions in the same province or other province, in case of being placed in free boarding school or transferred to private education institutions, 6 February 2023 It will not be cut until the end of the 2022-2023 academic year.

The amount of scholarship paid to preschool, primary and secondary school students whose mother or father or guardian died due to the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, provided that they continue formal education, regardless of whether they are placed in free boarding or not, pursuant to Law No. 2022 until the end of the 2023-2684 academic year. Monthly training support will be provided. This education support will not be given to scholarship recipients pursuant to Law No. 2684.
