Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to serve with all its units in the disaster area with the understanding of shadow municipality. The teams within the Metropolitan's Machinery Supply, Maintenance and Repair Department also provide repair support to civilian or public vehicles that break down during the day in Hatay. Hayri Serçekuş, who works as a truck repairman in the region, stated that they intervened and provided technical support to more than 100 vehicles with his team and said, "We are trying to run whatever the municipalities demand, not only our own vehicles, but also civilian vehicles."

Stating that they established an earthquake communication group, Serçekuş said, “The information of the malfunctioning vehicles comes to our chief or to us somehow. We see and we intervene. We have vehicles in Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş. We try to reach everyone if we get a call.
