Work continues uninterruptedly for the container city to be established by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in Kahramanmaraş Narlı. Saying that there will be 255 containers in the area together with the social areas, ESHOT General Directorate Building Facilities Department Head Semih Kök said, "We aim to complete the container city as quickly as possible and settle our citizens who were damaged by the earthquake as soon as possible."

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality works continuously to meet the shelter needs of earthquake victims in the disaster area. While garbage collection and disinfection activities continue in Kahramanmaraş Narlı, one of the residential areas most affected by the earthquake, 50 personnel at the Disaster Coordination Center work hard for the preparation of the container city.

“We will deliver in two months”

Semih Kök, Head of ESHOT General Directorate Building Facilities Department, stated that 60 of the 12 containers that were produced ready for installation at the institution's workshops and were transported to the area piece by piece were placed, “Currently, the assembly works are continuing. Containers with 232 living spaces will be built in this area. Apart from this, we will have built 255 containers with our areas such as places of worship, laundry, fairy tale house, rehabilitation center and infirmary. We plan to complete and deliver this in two months. Our infrastructure works are continuing rapidly. We have completed the infrastructure work for 172 containers,” he said.

Stating that the personnel are changed at certain intervals, Semih Kök stated that a working group of 50 people is serving at the moment and said, "We aim to complete the container city with all our friends as quickly as possible and to settle our citizens who were damaged by the earthquake as soon as possible and find a warm home."
