 How to Apply for Ballot Clerk?

According to the announcements published by the district election boards, an application can be made to the Election Ballot Officer. Polling Officer applications usually open within a few months of the election. The first of the two types of ballot box officials is the ballot box committee officer. Among those who are civil servants, the Election Board is determined by the YSK.

The second kind of ballot box officials is the ballot box officials of the parties. Applications are made to the YSK for polling station officials of the political parties that will participate in the elections. Parties inform the Supreme Election Board of the persons they will designate as ballot box attendants and the application form is filled. The ballot box clerk application cannot be received online, one must apply to the YSK.

Those who are members of any political party cannot be a polling station attendant, but they can act as a witness.

Conditions of Being a Ballot Attendant

  • Being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey,
  • to be 18 years old,
  • Not being a member of any political party
  • It may include elements such as a criminal record record.
  • Administrative chiefs, municipal police chiefs and officers, military persons (including civil servants) specified in Article 3 of the Military Penal Code, members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and candidates cannot be elected to ballot box committees.
