Lina Elmiladi, fencer of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club, won medals in three international championships in the last four months.

Lina Elmiladi, the 17-year-old fencing athlete of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, can't get enough of success. The young fencer participated in the EFC European Junior Circuit Sword Tournament held in Istanbul in November 2022, the European Junior U2023 Circuit Tournament held in Romania in January 17, and the Young Women's Sword World Cup held in Batumi, Georgia last month. He also won a bronze medal.

Stating that her goal is to get a medal in the European and World Championships in the youth classification, the young athlete said, “I take the European and World Champion, Olympic Third Place Ukrainian fencer Olha Hennadiyivna Harlan as an example. I get motivated by watching his videos before going to the competitions.” Stating that fencing has helped her a lot in motivation and stress management, Lila Elmiladi said, “I learned time planning and concentration thanks to fencing. The potential in me was revealed. I think fencing is a sport that includes all the difficulties of life. It makes you mature faster, especially when you start at an early age.” Noting that İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club has very special athletes in every branch, the national fencer said, “We are one of the biggest clubs in our country in terms of number of athletes and branches. We have very successful athletes in the international arena. Our success graph is getting higher every year. Although we do not have a very old fencing background, we have achieved significant success in this branch in a short time and we will bring the rest.”
