World Athletics announced that the World Teams Walking Cup, which has been held since 1961, will be held in Antalya in 2024.
Fatih Çintimar, President of the Turkish Athletics Federation, said in a statement on the subject, stating that the 2024 World Team Walking Championships will be held in Turkey, and used the following statements:
“After our candidacy process and our presentation, it was decided to hold this great championship in our country with the votes of the World Athletics Association Board of Directors. We are proud to be hosting an organization of the World Athletics Association for the second time in our history. This championship, in which more than 50 athletes from more than 500 countries will compete for the quota for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, is also an indication of the trust in our country and our federation. Antalya will also host the European Cross Country Championship at the end of next year.
