Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that the central exam within the scope of the High School Transition System (LGS) will be held on June 4, 2023 throughout the country, including the provinces in the earthquake zone. In his statement regarding the LGS guide, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer shared the following information: “Within the scope of LGS, the central exam will be held on June 4, 2023 throughout the country, including the provinces in the earthquake zone. Exam applications will be made centrally by the Ministry on April 3-13, except for students abroad who are not registered in the e-School system and students in provinces where a state of emergency was declared due to earthquakes. We have also taken special measures for our students in Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa, which are the provinces where a state of emergency was declared due to the earthquake. Our students registered in 10 provinces will be able to take the exam in other provinces if they wish. Our students who are in this situation will be able to choose the province and district where they will take the exam during the application period. No change in the exam

Noting that there has been no change in the sessions, exam durations, number of questions and course distribution in the LGS central exam, Özer said, “As in the previous year, the exam will be held in two sessions in 2023. Students will be asked a total of 90 questions, all multiple choice. We have announced before that this year our students will not be responsible for the second semester subjects. Exam entrance documents will be announced on May 26.

The guide includes the procedures and principles regarding the central examination to be held in order to select students for the 8th grade students of public and private secondary schools, imam hatip secondary schools and temporary education centers for the Anatolian technical programs of science high schools, social sciences high schools, project schools, vocational and technical Anatolian high schools. given.

All students studying in the 8th grade of public, private and imam hatip secondary schools will be able to see their information on central exam applications on the e-School Parent Information System as of April 3, 2023.

Since the application process will be carried out electronically, students whose information is not up-to-date will report this situation to the school directorates they are registered to. School directorates will complete the necessary update processes by checking the students' information (such as photographs, MERNİS-population records, compulsory foreign language, exemption status, equivalence records, exam precaution service) until April 13, 2023. School directorates will be responsible for the up-to-dateness of students' electronic information.

Information such as exam entrance place, hall, queue number, exam precaution service will be announced on the e-School Parent Information System on May 26.

The exam entrance document with a photograph will be received by the school directorates electronically as of May 26, and will be kept ready in the hall and in the queue where the student will take the exam after it has been sealed and approved.

Parents of students who are in other provinces due to force majeure such as transfer, compulsory change of residence, change of location due to assignment, etc., will apply to the provincial or district directorate of national education, where they want to take the exam, until 30 May, with petitions and documents describing the status of the student.

The petitions will be evaluated by the Regional Examination Executive Commissions to be formed before the exam, and the students whose applications are approved will be allowed to participate in the exam.

In case of natural disasters, quarantine, fire and similar extraordinary situations, the examination place of the student can be changed with the approval of the General Directorate of Measurement, Evaluation and Examination Services upon the proposal of the Regional Examination Executive Commission.

Exam results will be announced on 26 June.

According to the guide, the first session of the exam will start at 09.30 Turkish time and the second session will start at 11.30. In the first session, students will be asked a total of 50 questions from Turkish, Turkish Revolution history and Kemalism, religious culture and ethics, and foreign language courses and will be given a 75-minute response time. In the second session, students will be asked a total of 40 questions from mathematics and science courses, and students will have 80 minutes to answer.

The results of the central exam will be announced on the internet address "meb.gov.tr" on June 26. Exam result documents will not be sent to students by mail.
