Uninterrupted Support from Izmir to Earthquake Zones by Air, Land and Sea

After the great earthquake that shook 10 provinces, the whole city mobilized to heal the wounds under the leadership of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. At the end of the first two days, supplies, equipment and personnel were sent from Izmir to the region with 46 trucks, 15 trucks, 3 planes and 1 ship.

On 6-7 February 2023, 46 trucks, 15 trucks, 3 planes and 1 ship humanitarian aid materials, aid equipment and personnel were dispatched from Izmir to the earthquake zone. Tons of humanitarian aid materials such as 180 thousand blankets and quilts, 140 thousand pieces of clothing, 5 thousand heaters and stoves were sent to Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Hatay, Adana, Malatya, Osmaniye, Adıyaman and Şanlıurfa. In addition, 110 Izmir Metropolitan Municipality personnel and 332 vehicles, 133 of which are search and rescue personnel, including doctors, operators, drivers, cooks, psychologists and veterinarians, reached the earthquake zone.
While the search and rescue teams of the Metropolitan Municipality land on the field, the mobile kitchen and mobile operating room to produce hot meals are also operational.
