The measures taken by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in the field of labor and social security within the scope of the State of Emergency (OHAL) after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş were published in the Official Gazette with the Presidential Decree No. 22 dated February 2023, 32112.

Within the scope of the measures taken in the natural disaster area, the Ministry will provide short-time working allowance and cash wage support due to the regional crisis during the state of emergency.

Cash wage support will be provided to employees who have a job contract as of February 6, the date of the earthquake, whose employment contract has been terminated due to the closure of the workplace due to the effects of the earthquake on and after the earthquake, and who cannot benefit from unemployment benefits. In addition, employees who cannot benefit from the short-time working allowance due to the employer's application for short-time work but not meeting the necessary premium conditions will also be able to benefit from cash wage support. Applications for these payments can be made via e-Government.

Measures Regarding the Protection of Employment

As part of the measures taken by the Ministry to protect employment during the state of emergency, dismissals were prohibited, except in exceptional circumstances.

Within the scope of the collective bargaining agreement process, so that the parties do not lose their rights; The deadlines for granting authorization determinations, concluding collective labor agreements, resolving collective labor disputes, and strikes and lockouts were extended.
