Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they bought 20 new buses to be used in public transportation. Stating that the number of buses purchased since last June has increased to 127, Mayor Altay said, “Thus, we have provided a total of 127 buses and a 470 million lira purchase. With our price policy, we provide the cheapest public transportation between metropolitan cities. Despite the size of the geography, we will continue to be determined on this issue. We want our citizens to use public transportation in a comfortable way. We are making great efforts for this. Hopefully, we will continue to give our good news from now on." said.
Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they have recently added 20 new buses to the city and emphasized that public transportation services are one of their top priorities in Turkey's largest geography and sixth largest city in terms of population.
Explaining that they have two important goals in this sense, President Altay said, “The first is to provide the cheapest transportation in Turkey. As of now, we provide the cheapest public transportation between metropolitan cities with our price policy. Despite the size of the geography, we will continue to be determined on this issue. Because we provide a serious monthly support to our citizens with public transportation fees. I hope we will continue our cheap price policy from the past years," he said.
CITY OF CHEAP AND COMFORTABLE TRANSPORTATION KONYA
Stating that they are working on strengthening the public transportation fleet as well as providing cheap public transportation services, Mayor Altay said, “As of June 2022, we have added 107 new buses to our fleet. Our buses, which we bought with 407 million equity capital, are currently serving in our city. As of today, we are putting 20 new buses into service. We have secured the financing of our buses at a cost of 63 million. Thus, we achieved a total of 127 buses and a 470 million lira purchase. We want our citizens to use public transportation in a comfortable way. The biggest problem of big cities is traffic. The way to solve the traffic is that people can use public transportation. That's why it should be both cheap and comfortable. As Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we are making a great effort for both cheap and comfortable transportation.”
100 THOUSAND KILOMETERS DRIVE PER DAY
President Altay said, “In public transportation, our vehicles use routes about 100 thousand kilometers per day. We are running this business with a very large, crowded family. I would also like to thank all my colleagues for their sensitivity. We will continue to work with the same determination and determination to provide the best service to our citizens.
