HUDA PAR Deputy Chairman Sağlam: 'Earthquake Works in Adıyaman Are Insufficient'

Following the post-earthquake activities in Adıyaman, HUDA PAR Deputy Chairman İshak Sağlam pointed out that the search and rescue and aid efforts in the city were insufficient.

İshak Sağlam, Deputy Chairman of HUDA PAR, Deputy Chairman Halef Yılmaz, Party SözcüA delegation consisting of Serkan Ramanlı, General Administrative Board members Vedat Turgut, Mahmut İrtem and Mahmut Eminoğlu made contacts in Adıyaman, which was greatly affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake.

On the second day of their contact, the delegation visited the areas destroyed by the earthquake in the Kahta district and followed the search and rescue efforts in the city center.

Making statements after the examinations they made, HUDA PAR Deputy Chairman İshak Sağlam wished God's mercy to those who lost their lives in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and a speedy recovery to the injured.

Stating that all their prayers and expectations are for the survival of those who were under the rubble, Sağlam said, “Today we came to Kahta and Adıyaman. Especially when we entered Adıyaman, we encountered scenes that our minds and dreams would never accept. We are facing a great catastrophe. May God help us.” said.

Noting that the search and rescue and aid efforts are insufficient, Sağlam said, “The disaster is huge, but the intervention is unfortunately not as sufficient as it would like. People have been waiting to be rescued under the rubble for dozens of hours. There are live people under the rubble. There are some of our citizens who rescued their corpses at first, left them on the curb and took care of the wounded. We've seen some useful ones on the sidewalks. We saw people screaming for help and waiting to be rescued under the rubble. The situation is dire. Yes, we are facing a great disaster. Maybe it would not be right to blame the servants for the disaster here. However, delivering sufficient aid after the disaster is also a task and responsibility of our people and managers.” he said.

"We have the civilization that can remove this scourge with little damage"

Solid continued:

“We see that there is not enough coordination. It is a great destruction, but unfortunately, we could not adequately manage the aid campaigns and mobilization campaigns that we could eliminate this destruction with less damage. Today I am calling Turkey with a very urgent code. Whoever has food, who can grow it here, must urgently deliver it to Adıyaman without waiting for the morning. Businessmen, who have construction equipment in their fleet, must mobilize to remove all the tools that our companies have that will be useful in removing these wrecks. We have the civilization that can remove this scourge with little damage. We have a civilization that has such a desire for solidarity. But we need to coordinate it well. We need to explain this to our people so that there are countries that can deliver enough aid.
