China State Railway Group Corporation (China Railway) announced that they plan to build more than 2023 kilometers of railroads, including 2 kilometers of high-speed rail in 500, to make China's transportation system an advanced network.
In 2023, China Railway will strengthen connections between railways at different levels and fill gaps in the railway route to accelerate the construction of railway infrastructure to stimulate the economy and benefit society.
The company also reported that the construction of several important projects in the southwestern regions of the country will be accelerated, including the Sichuan-Tibet Railway.
According to the statement, China Railway reached its projected target by completing a fixed asset investment of 2022 billion 710 million yuan (approximately 900 billion 104 million dollars) in 800, and also built 2 thousand 82 kilometers of new railways, including 4 thousand 100 kilometers of high-speed rail.
By the end of 2022, the length of China's functional railways exceeded 42 thousand kilometers, including 155 thousand kilometers of high-speed rail.
