Gender Equality International Poster Contest Concluded

The winners of the Gender Equality International Poster Contest organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality have been announced. Pınar Yalur was the winner, Mehmet Yapıcı was the second, and Goyen Chen was the third from Taiwan in the competition where 16 works from 358 countries participated.

The international poster competition themed "gender equality", organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to raise awareness about the equality of women and men, has been concluded. Pınar Yalur received the first prize, Mehmet Yapıcı received the second prize, and Goyen Chen from Taiwan received the third prize in the competition, in which 16 works from 358 countries participated. Works by Çağla Nacir Sönmez, İlknur Günaydın and Gizem Hız also won honorable mentions.

The exhibition will be held

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organizes many activities related to the struggle for women's rights in Izmir, which has been awarded the title of "women-friendly city" within the framework of the United Nations "Joint Program for the Protection and Promotion of the Human Rights of Women and Girls". The works that won the competition will be evaluated in the communication works of these events, and an exhibition will be organized with the first 30 posters selected.

The Selection Committee evaluated

The works participating in the poster competition were evaluated by a Selection Committee consisting of representatives of civil society, academics, designers and municipal administrators. In the Selection Committee, Prof. Dr. Eser Köker, İzmir City Council Women's Council President Canan Aydemir Özkara, İzmir Business Women's Association Chairman of the Board Betül Sezgin, Dokuz Eylül University Graphics Department Faculty Member Ceren Bulut Yumrukaya, Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center Branch Manager Graphic Designer Aslı Aypak Şertürk, Women Ferda Ülker from the Works Department and Graphic Designer Ömer Çam from the Vocational Factory Branch took part.

On the Advisory Board, Nilay Kökkılınç, Head of the Gender Equality Commission of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Assembly, Burçin Kevser Sevil, Member of the Family and Child Commission of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Assembly, Prof. Dr. Huriye Toker, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay, Head of Social Projects Department Anıl Kaçar, Women's Studies Branch Manager Emel Dönmez.
