The “5. Productivity and Technology Fair” opened its doors to its visitors. The opening of the fair was made by Vice President Fuat Oktay, Ankara Bilim University Rector Prof. Dr. It was held with the participation of Yavuz Demir and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Attending the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board and General Manager Hüseyin Keskin, Deputy General Manager Erhan Ümit Ekinci and Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Manager Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu visited the DHMI stand.

We took our place in the 5th Efficiency and Technology Fair with the projects and systems we developed with our domestic and national resources. The shining star of world civil aviation, DHMI continues to contribute to our economy with the importance it attaches to technology.

Projects and systems developed by the State Airports Authority (DHMI) are exhibited at the fair, where Turkey's technological products are introduced.

Domestic and national ATM R&D projects developed by our organization at the 2th Efficiency and Technology Fair, which will take place between 4-5 February; Multi-Purpose Radar Screen (CARE), National Surveillance Radar (MGR), Air Traffic Controller Training Simulator (atcTRsim), Fod Detection Radar (FODRAD), Bird Detection Radar (KUŞRAD), DHMI Training Management System, which will also be used in sister country Azerbaijan (EYS), My Flight Guide mobile application, Flight Information System (FIDS), AIS Portal Application, Disaster Emergency Management Information System, Flight Tracking Application and Airports Internal Navigation projects and systems are introduced.

DHMİ PROVIDES FINANCIAL SAVINGS BY REDUCING FOREIGN DEPENDENCE WITH ITS DEVELOPMENTS

The shining star of world civil aviation, DHMI, with its technological breakthroughs in recent years, produces projects that will meet the needs of our aviation industry and reduce foreign dependency. The systems and applications, each of which has been developed by our organization with national and domestic means, draw attention with their user-friendly features and advanced technological infrastructures. Systems that meet the needs of the aviation industry provide significant financial savings.

The projects and systems developed by DHMI with domestic and national resources and exhibited at the 5th Efficiency and Technology Fair are as follows:

THE REMEDY TO BE USED ALSO IN THE BROTHER COUNTRY AZERBAIJAN

Providing service in more than 40 air traffic control units in Turkish Airspace and to be used in sister country Azerbaijan, CARE is among the domestic and national projects exhibited at our stand.

Within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between the State Airports Authority and Azerbaijan Airlines Air Navigation Subsidiary AZANS (Azeraeronavigation), the CARE system, one of the domestic and national R&D projects, whose intellectual and industrial property rights belong to DHMI and developed entirely by Turkish engineers with TUBITAK, Baku Haydar It will start service in three separate air traffic control units, primarily at Aliyev Airport.

Developed entirely with domestic and national means by our Organization, which carries out its activities in line with Turkey's vision of being a technology producer, not a consuming country, CARE is a human-machine interface application that displays real-time flight data on the map within the framework of air traffic control management capability.

CARE, with its user-friendly interface, allows air traffic controllers to manage air traffic effectively, as well as maintaining air traffic safety at the highest level.

TURKEY'S FIRST NATIONAL SURVEILLANCE RADAR (MGR)

The National Surveillance Radar (MGR), Turkey's first domestic radar system to be used in civil aviation, is on display at the 4th Efficiency and Technology Fair. The field acceptance works of the radar system, which was installed at Gaziantep Airport, have been completed. National Surveillance Radar (MGR), which is the first domestic and national PSR (Primary Surveillance Radar) system of our country, was developed with the cooperation of DHMI and TÜBİTAK with completely domestic and national resources. The system will be used in air traffic control services.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER TRAINING SIMULATOR (atcTRsim)

Another system DHMI exhibited at the fair is the Air Traffic Controller Training Simulator. The software of the Air Traffic Controller Training Simulator was developed entirely with domestic and national means. In the simulator, air traffic control trainings are given at all levels, especially the tower, approach and road control basic trainings. The simulator meets all training requirements from beginner to advanced training. Field and approach training can be provided, including emergency training. Integrated tower and radar scenarios provide comprehensive training. It has a user-friendly graphical interface. Up to 360° realistic 3D airport visual tower system available. It has 3D binocular simulation capability. Realistic aircraft and vehicle behavior in line with BADA (Base of Aircraft Data) is displayed. EUROCONTROL complies with ICAO rules and international standards.

FOD DETECTION RADAR (FODRAD)

Developed in partnership with DHMİ and TÜBİTAK-BİLGEM, the FODRAD system prevents accidents caused by foreign matter damage. FODRAD is a mm-wave radar system that detects foreign material residues (Foreign Object Debris-FOD) on the runway at airports and warns the operator, real-time display of the location of the debris on the runway and the camera image. System development work has been completed and installed at Antalya International Airport. The radar also draws attention with its design that meets the FAA (AC150/5220-24 Advisory Circular) recommendation criteria.

BIRD DETECTION RADAR (KUŞRAD)

Another technological product exhibited at the fair is the Bird Detection Radar (KUŞRAD), which is of great importance in terms of flight safety. Radar was developed with domestic facilities in order to obtain information about bird and bird flocks, to determine the migration routes of migratory birds, to increase situational awareness in the optimum use of airspace by obtaining statistical data in critical areas of airports connected to DHMI. The radar, which was installed at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in 2017, is successfully serving.

DHMI EDUCATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EYS)

The source codes and infrastructure of the DHMI Education Management System exhibited at the fair were developed entirely within the body of DHMI. Online and video trainings can be organized through the system. In addition, it is possible to follow up and plan the trainings that the personnel has attended before and their upcoming trainings. In addition, detailed reports of the trainings and the attendance status of the participants can be tracked. The software, which is built on a modular system, has the capabilities to meet the different needs of the organization at any time. In addition, the results of the exams attended by our personnel are announced in the system, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Protection of Personal Data, through the result disclosure module of the Promotion and Change of Title Exams.

MY FLIGHT GUIDE MOBILE APP

My Flight Guide mobile application; It can be downloaded for free on mobile devices from Android and IOS application markets. Thanks to the application, users can access all the details about their flights with a single touch before starting their journey, and plan and track all their journeys. The mobile application, which also offers fast and free internet access within the borders of the airport, serves airline passengers with its user-friendly screens.

FLIGHT INFORMATION SYSTEM (FIDS)

Flight Information System (FIDS) was developed with the resources of DHMI Information Technologies Department. The system displays the landing/departure information (delay status, cancellation status, estimated arrival time, etc.) of all flights at the airports via screens. It directs passengers, greeters and ground services accurately and on time. Offering multi-language support, the system has a user-friendly interface (web-based).

The system allows seasonal flight records to be created and allows displaying advertisements, promotions and information, videos, pictures and slides. It enables all of the flight information monitors to be watched over the system. The system, which has role-based user authorization, enables the creation of a weekly schedule for each monitor. It allows choosing different layouts for monitor types.

AIS PORTAL APP

DHMI AIS PORTAL application is integrated with NOTAM service European Aviation Information Database (EAD) system. It presents the current NOTAM information of Turkey and all the countries of the world instantly to the use of the aviation industry. Offering multi-language support, the system has a user-friendly interface (web-based) and seasonal flight records can be created. It allows the display of advertisements, promotions and information, videos, pictures and slides. It can also ensure that all flight information monitors can be monitored over the system.

DISASTER EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM

Disaster Emergency Management Information System; A system that enables DHMI disaster and emergency management activities to be carried out effectively before, during and after disasters and emergencies. It is an application that facilitates the compliance of the activities carried out within our organization with national and international norms and increases the institutional competence of DHMI in disaster and emergency management.

FLIGHT TRACK APP

The Flight Track application can be accessed via the browser, either integrated with the My Flight Guide mobile application or independently. By displaying all commercial and transit flights in Turkish airspace live on the map, it enables users to follow live flights in the air and get all the information about the flight in detail.

AIRPORTS INTERNAL NAVIGATION

Airports Internal Navigation; Based on the floor plans of 52 airports in Turkey, it provides interactive indoor mapping and displays these maps via the DHMI Flight Guide mobile application available in the Android and iOS application markets. The application offers the opportunity to find direction with animated and descriptive directions from the starting position to the end position, and to make animated routing according to the point of view.
