Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced that they screened 2022 thousand 760 babies and 789 thousand 601 adults within the scope of the SMA screening program they started in May 507.
Minister Koca made the following statements in his statement on his social media account:
We launched the SMA screening program for newborn babies with premarital couples in May 2022. To date, we have screened 760 thousand 789 babies and 601 thousand 507 adults. We have had the chance of early treatment for suitable babies with SMA detected. We are in a new era against SMA.”
